Islamic education has a strategic role in shaping individuals who are faithful, knowledgeable, and have noble character. However, social dynamics and global developments demand a reconstruction of the Islamic education paradigm to be more contextual, humanistic, and oriented towards the value of rahmatan lil 'alamin. This article aims to theoretically examine the concept of reconstructing Islamic education in building a generation with universal and moderate character. Through a literature study approach with descriptive-analytical analysis, this paper emphasises that the paradigm of Islamic education must balance spiritual, intellectual, and social dimensions. Islamic education needs to be oriented towards character building based on the values of compassion, justice, and universal humanity as embodied in the principle of rahmatan lil 'alamin. This paradigm reconstruction is expected to produce a formal education system that not only produces intellectually intelligent individuals, but also individuals with good character and a global perspective.
