Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

EPBI: Journal of Economic Perspectives and Business Innovation is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic quality, research integrity, and transparency through a rigorous peer review process. Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes a systematic evaluation to ensure originality, methodological quality, scholarly contribution, and relevance to the journal's aims and scope.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission through the Online Journal System (OJS), each manuscript is first evaluated by the Editorial Team to ensure that it:

  • falls within the journal's aims and scope;

  • complies with the Author Guidelines;

  • contains complete submission metadata;

  • satisfies publication ethics requirements; and

  • is suitable for external peer review.

Manuscripts that fail to meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected without external review.

2. Similarity Check

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software to verify originality. Manuscripts containing unacceptable levels of similarity, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other forms of publication misconduct will be rejected in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policy.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review

EPBI adopts a Double-Blind Peer Review system in which both authors' and reviewers' identities remain anonymous throughout the review process.

Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's subject area.

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • originality and novelty;

  • relevance to the journal's scope;

  • scientific contribution;

  • methodological rigor;

  • quality of analysis and discussion;

  • clarity and organization of presentation;

  • adequacy and currency of references; and

  • compliance with research and publication ethics.

4. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor may issue one of the following decisions:

  • Accept;

  • Minor Revision;

  • Major Revision; or

  • Reject.

When revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed response explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

5. Final Decision

The final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into consideration the reviewers' recommendations, the quality of the revised manuscript, and the journal's editorial standards. Manuscripts will be accepted only after all scientific, ethical, and editorial requirements have been satisfactorily fulfilled.

6. Review Timeline

EPBI strives to provide a timely and efficient review process. The journal aims to complete the initial review and communicate the first editorial decision within 4–8 weeks, depending on manuscript complexity and reviewer availability.

7. Peer Review Ethics

Editors and reviewers are expected to maintain:

  • confidentiality of submitted manuscripts;

  • objectivity and fairness in evaluation;

  • scientific independence;

  • avoidance of conflicts of interest; and

  • adherence to international standards of publication ethics.

Through this rigorous peer review process, EPBI: Journal of Economic Perspectives and Business Innovation publishes high-quality scholarly works that contribute to contemporary economic research, organizational strategy, business innovation, sustainable development, and evidence-based policymaking while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers and practitioners.
