This community service program aimed to enhance the English teaching skills of educators and improve the English proficiency and motivation of students with special needs in East Lombok Regency. The program was implemented through a series of structured training sessions for teachers, focusing on inclusive teaching methods, the use of digital learning media, and adaptive instructional strategies tailored to diverse learner needs. The participatory action research approach facilitated active collaboration among educators, school administrators, parents, and support personnel, ensuring the training content was contextually relevant and practically applicable.
The results demonstrated significant improvements in teachers’ competencies in managing inclusive classrooms and utilizing innovative teaching tools, which in turn positively impacted students’ language abilities and engagement. Students exhibited noticeable progress in vocabulary acquisition, communication skills, and overall motivation to learn English. Despite some challenges, such as limited resources and varied student needs, the program fostered a supportive learning environment conducive to the holistic development of students with special needs.
This program highlights the importance of continuous professional development, collaborative partnerships, and the integration of technology in inclusive education settings. Recommendations include ongoing training, enhanced resource allocation, and policy support to sustain and expand inclusive educational practices. The findings contribute valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and stakeholders aiming to improve educational equity and quality for learners with special needs.
